Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 plot and setting
First Infernal Blade he saw Senua’s journey in search of her dead lover’s soul. Venturing into the fire of Helheim, she fought against all odds and even the goddess of death, Hella herself.
While the main story focused on the action-adventure game Infernal Blade I’ve also seen more mature themes woven into the narrative. Filled with psychological struggles, Senua slowly comes to terms with everything that has happened to her.
We hope that Infernal Blade 2 will continue this thought-provoking journey, but so far there is no confirmed solid plot for this long-awaited sequel.
Game Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
Infernal Blade 2 is a third-person action-adventure game with the only one game trailer (opens in a new tab) released at Game Awards 2021 (opens in a new tab).
In this six-minute trailer, we saw Senua and a group of warriors travel to a cold and wet seaside cave. Scattered with bones and rubble, you immediately know something is wrong.
Just like in the first game, your thoughts doubt you as your every action is met with soft whispers of fear and discomfort. But after a little preparation, we finally get to see what Senua came here to find and kill; giant.
The fight begins with the giant chasing Senua, calling her by name and eating the other soldiers. The whole sequence beats the heart and is beautifully written. If that’s something you can get out of, then Infernal Blade 2 looks like it will be an unforgettable sequel.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 – What’s New
Senua’s character model is incredibly detailed
Developer Ninja Theory has shared two close-up images of Senua’s character model, and they are incredibly detailed. From the snot pouring out of Senua’s nose to the wrinkles on her lips, Ninja Theory definitely doesn’t play around with the little details that make Senua look truly realistic.
The developer cites the development of materials for the skin and eyes using studio references for its ability to give Senua a realistic appearance. We were certainly excited to see more hellblade 2, and Senua in action.

There are no tricks here
After revealing the gameplay Infernal Blade 2Ninja Theory’s audio director, David García, tweeted out some details about the trailer’s soundtrack. According to García, the game’s trailer was captured entirely in the real-time engine, and “almost all” of the 3D sounds in the footage use the project’s acoustics and surround sound.
Project Acoustics is Microsoft’s wave acoustics engine for interactive 3D experiences. It basically allows you to bring realistic acoustics into 3D environments. Meanwhile, surround sound is immersive sound that comes (or seems) from all directions.
A few audio notes on our gameplay trailer: all 3D sounds use design acoustics and surround sound: amazing technologies. -Everything in this demo is in engine, real time, no gimmicks. That’s true. Therefore, not everything is perfect (yet :D)December 12, 2021
